Sprinkle it onto stuffed peppers!
Stuffed peppers are a perfect way to turn kitchen staples into a delicious, filling meal. Mix a tin of black beans with frozen sweetcorn, chopped tomatoes, garlic, chilli and cumin powder. Stuff the peppers with the mixture and coat with cheddar for a quick, delicious meal.
coat with extra mature cheddar and some spring onions for an irresistibly crispy topping!
Stuff some mushrooms with it!
For a simple-yet-satisfying meal, place large mushrooms on a rimmed baking tray and stuff with a combination of the chopped mushroom stems, garlic, pancetta and pimientos (or roasted red peppers). Cover with cheddar and bake for 15 minutes.
generously cover the mushroom with grated mature cheddar and sprinkle with parsley once cooked!
A twist on the classic cheese on toast!
Britain is a nation of cheese on toast lovers! We’ll always love the classic combination of cheddar with a splash of Worcestershire sauce but sometimes we fancy something a little different.
On top of your slice of cheddar, sprinkle chopped spring onion and some chilli flakes for a little kick!
Coat your enchiladas with it!
Chicken, beef or vegetarian – everyone has a favourite type of enchilada. Whatever the filling, a healthy sprinkling of cheddar across the top finishes them off perfectly!
Sprinkle extra grated cheddar cheese across the top to make them extra delicious!
Sprinkle it onto a homemade pizza!
For a quick and tasty homemade pizza, take a tortilla wrap or pitta bread as the base, smother it with passata and add a layer of cheddar. Finish off with your favourite toppings – our favourite is classic pepperoni but you can use any cooked meats or vegetables. Bake in the oven until the base is crisps and the cheese is bubbling.
Add extra cheese to make it extra delicious!
Layer it in dauphinoise potatoes!
For an indulgent side dish, simmer thinly sliced potatoes in a pan of cream, milk and garlic for 10 minutes. Layer the into an oven-proof dish and sprinkle a layer of cheddar on top. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
for an extra cheesy dish, add some cheddar in between the layers too!
Cover some garlic bread with it!
For a delicious side dish, chop a baguette lengthways and slather across a mixture of minced garlic with softened butter and chopped fresh parsley. Top with a thick layer of cheddar and bake for 15 minutes until golden and crispy.
You can never have too much cheese on cheesy garlic bread!
Bake it onto a croque monsiour!
Brush two pieces of bread with melted butter and grill until golden and crisp. Spread mustard onto the non-grilled side of the bread slices. Top one slice with ham and cheese and grill until the cheese is melted then place the other bread slice on top – grilled side up.
Stir cheese and nutmeg into a béchamel sauce and cover the top of the bread. Grill the whole sandwich until golden and bubbling. Enjoy it straight away!
For a British twist to the classic croque monsiour we use cheddar cheese!
Stuff your meatballs with it!
What could be better than meatballs cooked in a rich tomato sauce? Meatballs with a melted cheddar surprise inside!
Combine your choice of mincemeat, onion and dried herbs (we love oregano). Divide into small balls and wrap around a cube of cheddar. Chill for 20 minutes then fry in a pan until browned. Add your tomato sauce and simmer for 30 minutes. Enjoy the cheese oozing when you cut into the meatball!
A cube of cheddar inside your meatballs makes them extra delicious!
Crumble it into a quiche!
For a light lunch, we love a warm quiche. Our favourite is spinach and tomato but you can also use mushroom, bacon, broccoli – anything you fancy! To a pastry base, pour on a mixture of eggs, cream and milk, seasoned with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add your favourite toppings and crumble in cheddar. Bake for 50 minutes or until the top is golden and the filling is set.
add a cheesy layer on to the base before you pour in the filling for some extra flavour!
Sprinkle it on your popcorn!
Prepare popcorn in the microwave, according to package instructions. Pour the popped corn into a large serving bowl. Place butter in a glass or ceramic container and place in the microwave until the butter has fully melted.
Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over top of the popcorn, drizzle melted butter on top of the cheese, and toss to coat well.
If you have a bag of pasta, you have dinner.
Don’t overthink your pasta dinner. Think about what you have and what kinds of flavours you want your dinner to have.
You don’t even need to have sauce — serve it with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and herbs, and some butter.
Otherwise, add lentils, chickpeas, beans, sausage, chicken, fish, shredded beef or pork, veggies, mushrooms, a bit of wine, or anything else you fancy. Easy peasy.
Nestle it under delicious messy lasagne layers
This is not about how to make a great lasagne. Everyone knows where to find the recipe. This is about the secret making the ultimate lasagne.
This lasagne is extra delicious for ‘some reason’ (it’s the extra cheese).
It’s what puff pastry was born to do: crispy, flaky, cheesy twists
Cheese straws are made with puff pastry, which is cut into strips and then twisted into ‘straws’. Don’t overthink it! You can make the strips as long or as short, as thick or as thin, as twisted or as delicate as you like.
Add some cheese to those layers, and you’ve got something worth spoiling your dinner for.
Stuff it into an omelette!
Gently beat the eggs together and season, to taste, with salt and pepper. Heat some butter in a frying pan until foaming. Pour in the eggs and cook until the they have just set, but the omelette is still soft in the centre.
Put the grated cheddar and the ham in the centre and cook until the cheese has melted and the omelette browns on the bottom.
Fold the omelette in half, then slide it onto a plate to serve.
Bake it into your mashed potatoes!
To boiled potatoes, add sour cream, milk, butter, salt and pepper. Mash until light and fluffy.
Stir in cheddar cheese, bacon and onions.
Transfer to a greased baking dish. Top with a bit more cheddar cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
Cover your tortilla chips with a blanket of it
Spread about some tortilla chips on a baking sheet in an even layer. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the tortilla chips. Repeat with another layer of tortilla chips and cheese. Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly; about 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and garnish with your choice of toppings.
Add your favourite cheese on tortilla chips and on everything!
Pretend it’s just a salad!
The freshest ingredients for salad, with apples, beetroot, cranberries, lettuce, walnuts, and cubed cheddar cheese.
For the ‘taste of home’ add some BIG cubes of Cathedral City Extra Mature.
Sneak cheddar into a loaf of bread!
Slice off top of each bread roll and gently remove some bread until there is a hole large enough to accommodate an egg.
Arrange rolls on a baking tray. Keep the tops. Place some ham into the edges of the hole and crack an egg into the centre. Season with salt and pepper and add 2 tbsp of cheddar. Bake in a oven until the eggs are set and bread is toasted – around 20 to 25 minutes. After eggs have cooked, place bread tops on baking sheet and bake until golden brown.
What if you played ‘hide and seek’ and ended up finding a BREAD BOWL FULL OF CHEESE?
And if you still have too much cheese, you can FREEZE it!
We recommend that you grate and freeze before the date mark on pack. If you are freezing your cheese as a block, please be aware that the texture will be affected and it may be more crumbly. Ideally, the cheese should be used within 3 months of freezing.

Tuck it into a crepe and cover it with an egg
Some simple things in life are totally satisfyingly without any explanation. These include, but are not limited to: popping bubble wrap, hugging someone you love, watching the sunrise and flipping pancakes. What toppings you put on your pancakes is entirely up to you.
Grated cheddar (for a delicious tang), some good quality carved ham and a free range egg. Deeeeeelicious!
Who knew guac and cheese were meant to be together?
In a bowl, mash avocado with lime juice and add salt and pepper. Spread butter on the outside of each slice of bread, then spread avocado on the non-buttered side of one slice. Top with cheddar and close the sandwich. Place it in a pan, then cover and cook until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
Add double cheese for the ultimate taste.
Disguise it as ‘seasoning’ for vegetables
On a rimmed baking tray, toss cauliflower with oil and season with salt and pepper. Cook until tender (about 20 minutes), tossing halfway through. Top with grated cheddar. Return to oven and cook until cheese melts, about 2 minutes.
This cauliflower is extra delicious for ‘some reason’. It’s the cheddar!
When in doubt, stuff it into a potato!
The Hasselback potato is one of those seemingly fancy creations that’s actually deceptively easy to make. Cutting the grooves takes no time at all.
Fill all those crevices with your favourite toppings (hello, cheddar cheese and bacon)
And that’s why, friends, this twist on a baked potato recipe is epic.
